Internal Policy on POCSO

Schools & Organizations in contact with Children directly or indirectly must create and implement a Child Protection Policy and must efficiently include child protection into processes, curriculum and staff recruitment. Such policies can also include protection from bullying, ragging, discrimination, and other harassment. The Policy must take a child rights-based approach. It is a statement of intent that demonstrates the commitment to safeguarding children from harm and makes clear to all who come into contact what is required in relation to the protection of children, and that child abuse in any form is unacceptable.

Child Safety at Work can assist you with an Internal Policy. Broadly, the Policy will include among other things:

  1. Scope & applicability
  2. Definition of abuse and examples of what actions would fall under abuse
  3. Child safe practices that protect children from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation in any form
  4. Responsibilities in protection of children
  5. Guidelines on how to report any concern
  6. Redressal mechanism
  7. Do’s & Don’ts
