Every child under 18 years of age, regardless of gender
Anyone aware of a sexual offence against a child is legally obligated to report it. Failure to report is itself a punishable offence under the Act.
Trials are conducted in special courts and the child's identity is strictly protected throughout all proceedings
The accused must prove their innocence.the child is not required to prove that the offence occurred
Enhanced punishments including death penalty in extreme cases, to create a stronger deterrent against child sexual abuse
