Learning Agenda – National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported that total number of child pornography / rape & gang rape complaints lodged in the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) from 01.03.2020 to 18.09.2020 is 13,244. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) reported that 420 cases of child sexual abuse were received from 01.03.2020 to 31.08.2020 via online portals, helplines, etc.

Children are subject to various forms of abusive and exploitive acts and can be abused physically, sexually and/or emotionally. Hence, as persons who may be in contact with children (in any capacity), it is extremely important to understand our role & functions when such incidents occur or are reported.
